Author Guidelines

Two files must be submitted. One (1) with authorship data and another (2) prepared for double-blind evaluation. This means without any authorship, self-citation and institutional reference data

File with authorship: It will include the “Title of the contribution”, the names of the “authors”, their complete “affiliations” and the acknowledgments if any. On that sheet the author or, if there are several authors, the one who will correspond with the Editorial Committee, must, by way of sworn statement, affirm that:

  • The data contained is exact and the statements made are the result of the careful research work of the authors;
  • All authors have participated in the work substantially and assume responsibility for it;
  • The work submitted has not been published in whole or in part nor has it been sent to other journals for publication. Exceptions to this rule are works originating from postgraduate theses. The article will include the title and the name of the author(s).

File without authorship for double-blind evaluation: The article will include “Title of the work”, “Translated title”. WITHOUT name(s) of author(s). Replacing ALL authorship, self-citation and institutional reference marks.

Submission: The original must be sent in electronic format (preferably Word) to Revistaquebracho@unse.edu.ar

Format: A4 page size, with 2.5 cm margins on all sides, Times New Roman font, size 11, at 1.5 line spacing. Page numbering at the bottom right and continuous line numbering throughout the document.

Title: The title will be short and descriptive, will have a maximum of 20 words and will also be presented in English. Due to the international access of the journal, it is recommended to include relevant information about the geographical location of the study in the title when appropriate.

Authors: Indicate the first and last name of all authors in lowercase letters, with the initial letters in capital letters. Separate the authors with a comma.

Affiliation: Order each address mentioning the necessary data, first the parent institution (for example, the university) and then the dependencies within it in descending order (for example, faculty, department, laboratory); Next, indicate the city and country of residence of the author. Apply the format of the following example:

Summary and Abstract: The summary must have a maximum of 250 words in scientific works and up to 200 in technical notes and communications. It must clearly and concisely establish the purpose of the research, the basic procedures, the most important results and the main conclusions, in such a way that it is completely understandable for anyone who does not read the rest of the work. The use of abbreviations and highly specialized terminology should be avoided. A translation must appear as Abstract.

Keywords and keywords: At the end of the summary, between three and six keywords should be included. Composite terms may be used, such as a double-entry cubing table. In the same way, at the end of the Abstract the keywords must be written. Remember that these words are used by databases to bring their work when a researcher wants to compile literature on a topic, in this sense the keywords must be significant in their area of study and it is necessary that they be different from those that appear in title.

Figure: Photos, figures, maps and graphs must be in color. Its maximum size must respect the magazine box (15 x 24 cm) at a minimum resolution of 300 dpi. The text must be legible and clear (size between 8 to 10 points). They will all be designated as “Figure” and numbered consecutively in Arabic numerals. Titles should be clear and concise and located at the bottom. If necessary, references should be used to facilitate understanding. They will be located after the paragraph where they are cited.

Tables: The tables must also respect the size indicated on the magazine box. Titles should be placed at the top and row and column headings should be easy to understand. Insignificant figures should be avoided in the cells. In the case of several tables, they must have consecutive numbering and in Arabic numerals. In the text they will be called “Table” and then the corresponding number. The text must be legible and clear (size between 8 to 10 points). They will be located after the paragraph where they are cited.

Citations: The Date-Author citation system will be used. All sources in the text must be in the bibliographical references at the end of the document. Citations in the text should be made in parentheses with the author's last name followed by the year of publication.

(López and Martínez, 2021) in the case of two authors (López et al ., 2021) in the case of 3 or more authors

In the event that the reference to the author is at the beginning of the citation, the author's Surname will be placed followed by the Year (this in parentheses)

In the case of a Corporate Author, the full name of the institution or corporation must be entered followed by its acronym. In the following references, it is enough to cite the acronym.

Footnotes: Footnotes will be avoided whenever possible. If necessary, they will be indicated with Arabic numbers at the bottom of the corresponding page.

Symbology: The IUFRO (International Union) symbology must be used. of Forest Research Organizations ). I didn't find any reference to this. I think they are standards from 1956. Is it worth clarifying? I don't know, I'll look to see if other magazines offer that information.

Systems and numbering: The decimal metric system must be used exclusively. In the expression of quantities, the comma will be used to separate the integer part from the decimal and the period for thousands and millions.

Mathematical notation: The simplest possible notation should be used.

Nomenclature: The Quebracho magazine follows the guidelines of the Nomenclature Codes for the citation of taxa. The first time a species is mentioned, the taxonomic authorship must be indicated. Taxonomic authorship should not be used in subsequent mentions of the text or in the title or abstract. The Latin names of species or genera must be in italics or also called italics.

Bibliographic references: Only sources cited in the work will be included. For its format, the APA Standards in their latest version will be used. It will include the sources cited in the text in alphabetical order, with hanging indentation at 1.27 and must follow the following format:

Author names must be reversed (Last Name, First Name); The names of up to twenty authors must be reported in the reference list.

The page number should be included in the reference according to the source being cited, such as when it is part of a larger work.

Meaning and spelling: The spelling and meaning (meaning) of the terms used must be in accordance with the latest edition of the dictionary of the Royal Spanish Academy .

Abbreviations, symbols and acronyms should be clarified in parentheses the first time they are used in the text. The use of those established by international conventions is recommended.

Acronyms, abbreviations of units of measurement and symbols of chemical elements do not carry periods.

Submission Preparation Checklist

All subsequent submissions must meet the requirements.

  • The submission has not been previously published or submitted for consideration by any other journal (or an explanation has been provided in the Comments to the Editor).
  • Wherever possible, URLs are provided for references.
  • The submission file is in electronic format, preferably Microsoft Word (.docx), OpenOffice or RTF.
  • The text has single spacing; 11 point font size; italics are used instead of underlining (except in URLs); and all illustrations, figures, and tables are placed in the appropriate places in the text, rather than at the end.
  • The text conforms to the style and citation standards summarized in the Author Guidelines, which appear in About the journal.

020 Trabajo científico

Los trabajos científicos deberán informar acerca de una investigación de carácter científico basada en bibliografía actualizada y datos empíricos. Su propósito es contribuir al progreso de la ciencia o la tecnología. Deberán tener una estructura lógica bien diferenciada: Introducción donde se presenten el problema, los antecedentes universales y locales; Materiales y Métodos claros y precisos; Resultados y Discusión con contraste con cada autor del marco teórico; Conclusiones que contengan una nueva hipótesis y Referencias bibliográficas. Debe estar redactado de tal forma que un investigador competente, basándose exclusivamente en las indicaciones que figuran en el texto, pueda: 1) reproducir los experimentos y obtener los resultados que se describen; 2) repetir las observaciones y juzgar las conclusiones del autor y 3) verificar la exactitud de los análisis y deducciones que han permitido al autor llegar a sus conclusiones. Su extensión no deberá superar las 12 páginas impresas.

050 Artículo invitado

Los artículos invitados son propuestos por el Comité Editorial a distintos autores de gran trayectoria y prestigio, o en algunos casos a aportaciones de una especial relevancia para nuestro campo de estudio. Pueden ser artículos científicos originales, revisiones, conferencias editadas, etc. No tienen restricción en el número de páginas ni de figuras.

030 Nota técnica

Technical notes are written without theoretical content, which can be structured with an Introduction where the problem and objective of the work are presented, Materials and Methods, and Results that support a Conclusion exclusively based on those results, without opening new working hypotheses. . They must be a maximum of 8 pages in length.
