About the Journal
Editorial policy
Objective: Its objective is to disseminate scientific works, technical notes and communications related to topics of interest in Forest Sciences at the national and international level.
About voluntary contributions that may be published: The Quebracho journal will publish scientific papers, technical notes, communications and invited articles, which will be defined by the following characteristics:
Scientific papers should report on scientific research based on updated bibliography and empirical data. Their purpose is to contribute to the progress of science or technology. They should have a well-differentiated logical structure: Introduction where the problem, universal and local background are presented; Clear and precise Materials and Methods; Results and Discussion with contrast with each author of the theoretical framework; Conclusions containing a new hypothesis and Bibliographical References. It should be written in such a way that a competent researcher, based exclusively on the indications that appear in the text, can: 1) reproduce the experiments and obtain the results described; 2) repeat the observations and judge the author's conclusions and 3) verify the accuracy of the analyses and deductions that have allowed the author to reach his conclusions. Its length should not exceed 12 printed pages.
Technical notes are written without theoretical content, which can be structured with an Introduction presenting the problem and the objective of the work, Materials and Methods, and Results that support a Conclusion based exclusively on those results, without opening new working hypotheses. They should be a maximum of 8 pages long.
Communications provide information on preliminary results or ongoing research. Although they provide one or more new scientific pieces of information, their wording does not allow readers to verify the information. They have an Introduction, Materials and Methods, Results and Discussion, but they are not concluded because the work is not finished. They should not exceed four printed pages.
Invited articles are proposed by the Editorial Committee to various authors of great experience and prestige, or in some cases to contributions of special relevance to our field of study. They can be original scientific articles, reviews, edited conferences, etc. There is no restriction on the number of pages or figures.
Both scientific papers and technical notes and communications must be unpublished and must not have been submitted to another journal for publication. They will be examined by at least two referees who will judge their suitability for publication. The anonymity of both the referees and the authors will be maintained.
The author must indicate whether his/her contribution is a scientific work, a technical note or a communication. If the reviewers do not agree with this classification, they may suggest another category. The final rating will be made by the Editorial Committee based on the reviewers' suggestions, which will be communicated to the author prior to publication.
Cost: There is no cost for processing and submitting articles for publication.
Manuscript management: Once the article has been received, compliance with the publication standards will be verified. The author will be notified if it needs to be completed or corrected. Then, a member of the editorial committee who is in agreement with the work will check whether it meets the minimum requirements to be designated as a scientific work, technical note or communication and will suggest the name of two referees (double-blind review modality). The associate editor will manage the sending and receiving to and from the referees and author/s who will judge the quality of the article; when their opinions are divergent, a third referee will be consulted, with the final decision always being left to the Editorial Committee. When the work finally obtains a positive evaluation, a certificate of acceptance will be issued and delivered to the member of the editorial committee who is in agreement with the work for final acceptance. The main editorial team will select at its discretion the articles that will form part of each issue/volume of the journal. Finally, it goes to the final editing process for the printed version and then to a process of applying the methodology under the SciELO system for electronic dissemination.

Use of materials (licenses): The scientific material will be published under an Open Access policy and is available without restrictions.
